Why (step by step)
Suppose Sam did it, then test every statement against the rules. Sam said “I didn't do it.” — that claim collapses to false, and only the culprit lies — consistent. Ines said “It was Sam.” — true — and since the innocent never lie, that fits. Lux said “It was Sam.” — that is TRUE, which is exactly what an innocent suspect must say — fine. Every statement lines up under this assumption, so Sam is guilty. Swap in anyone else and an innocent is forced to lie (or the guilty one ends up truthful) — both forbidden — leaving Sam as the only logically consistent answer.
